As if having sexy husband (ahem! New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady) is not enough, Gisele Bündchen has given women worldwide one more reason to turn green with envy – the former Victoria Secrets model has 2 adorable children, and not a single stretch mark! We all know pregnancy does things to our bodies. Things which may make a previously confident woman quake at the thought of stripping down at the beach or even in front of her bedroom mirror. While women like Gisele may be genetically blessed (or so she claims), advanced treatments are now at hand to tackle these common skin problems effectively and help shore up your body love. SKIN speaks to Dr Low Chai Ling, medical director of The SW1 Clinic, ex-founder of The Sloane Clinic for some advice. The Problem: Stretch Marks Ninety percent of women will get stretch marks over their lifetime. Yes, 90. Those shiny marks that snake across the tummy – caused by rapid over-stretching with resultant thinning, tissue tearing Continue Reading

You Can Do This Acne Facial At Home
Once in a while, we all get the epic acne breakout. While topical treatments like benzoyl peroxide or extractions do help, they can cause a lot of dryness, flaking, irritation…or more breakouts – throwing you in a frustrating cycle of shelling out dough on piles of products and painful extractions that just make things look worse. Instead of hiding under layers of full makeup or bunkering up indoors, we went seeking gentler home alternatives, and the beauty gurus at The SW1 Clinic were kind enough to oblige. Keep acne-prone skin under check through the holidays and beyond with a #15minutefacial that’s easily accomplished while you’re on a Netflix binge, with anti-acne skincare you can stock in your very own bathroom apothecary. STEP 1: Skin Laundry III Sapphire Cleanser The first step of an anti-acne ritual should be to purge oil and dirt. Skin Laundry III is a mildly foaming detoxing cleanser which provides a clarifying wash, leaving skin velvety smooth. It contains salicylic, glyolic and lactic acid which lifts Continue Reading

I Said No To Lipo And Tried Fat Freezing Instead
I have good reasons not to like my body very much, in particular, my stubborn tummy is bent on making the world know that it continues to live, since I was 18. Problem is, I don’t have as much a problem with my weight, because I really don’t consider myself as fat. So you see why a tummy bulge can be an issue. Having tried dieting (which just makes me lose weight overall but doesn’t do much to change my shape), been to the gym, tried one of those vibration slimming belts, I contemplated liposuction. But according to a study, apparently fat comes back after it is liposuctioned out, to other parts of the body. I might be wrong, but I am not about to try it just to find out. More importantly, I discovered a world of non-invasive body shaping that hides in a doctor’s slimming arsenal. But the biggest question is, does the weight come back with non-invasive treatments? Well, at least there isn’t a study yet to Continue Reading
