The Glass Skin Ideal: How to Achieve Flawless, Radiant Skin

Glass skin is a skincare goal that has become increasingly popular in recent years. This Korean beauty trend refers to a complexion that is smooth, flawless, and translucent, like glass. It is characterized by a dewy glow, even skin tone, and a lack of blemishes. There are many factors that contribute to achieving glass skin, including genetics, diet, and lifestyle. However, there are also a number of skincare products and treatments that can help to improve the appearance of the skin and achieve a more glass-like finish. Here are some tips for achieving glass skin: Hydration is key. The skin needs to be properly hydrated in order to look its best. Drink plenty of water throughout the day and use hydrating skincare products, such as serums and moisturizers. Exfoliate regularly. Exfoliating helps to remove dead skin cells and reveal the fresh, new skin underneath. This can help to improve skin texture and radiance. Use targeted treatments. If you have specific skin concerns, such as acne or hyperpigmentation, you may want Continue Reading

Treating post festive bloating

During the holiday festive season, it is difficult to stay away from feasting and saying no even when we are full. I am sure most of us are not strangers to bloating due to overeating post festive celebration. Here are some useful tips to reduce your bloating.   Staying hydrated and drinking enough water Do you notice yourself bloating after eating sodium-rich food even when you do not overeat? The reason is because our kidneys retain water due to the excess of sodium in our diet, making us feel bloated everywhere. Hence, drinking more water will help flush out some of that sodium and water, which will make it feel less distended.   Avoid salty foods Besides keeping ourselves hydrated, we should also avoid having salty foods. We recommend preparing food at home instead of dining out, to control the amount of salt used to cook our meals.   Light exercises A 15-minute brisk walk and staying active increase the motility of our colon, which reduces the amount of time Continue Reading

Learning From the Young Us

While searching up holidays in the month of October (as one does), I saw “Children’s Day”. Then, a pang of nostalgia hit me. As I reminisce about the fun celebrations I had eons ago in school, I can’t help but reflect on the things we can all learn from our young selves. We’ve gone through a wide variety of experiences that have helped shape us into the adults we are today. As the good, the bad and the ugly become more apparent to us, we lose the childlike innocence we once had. Oh, what a shame. This void is then filled by skepticism. As much as I resent the fact that this is the natural process of growing up, I must agree that skepticism is important for survival in today’s world. Along the way, we lose many things, our youth, our innocence and maybe even the wonder we have for this world. But there are some things that we shouldn’t lose. Never lose your sense of self. It is important Continue Reading

How Ampoules “Amp” Up Your Skin

Ampoules – small little glass vials of skincare. What are they? If you are using an essence and serum(s), should you also use an ampoule? We think you should! Here’s why these skin booster vials deserve a shot. AMPOULES OR SERUMS? First up, they sound terribly similar, so why should we use both? Ampoules are actually quite different from serums. In order to understand why you should use an ampoule, you need to know about layering skincare. While the 10-step Korean skincare routine might be a little bit of an overkill, having a parred down layering routine such as a 6-step routine is actually quite manageable, even in our hot and humid weather. A common routine would be: Cleanse > Tone > Essence > Ampoule > Serum > Moisturiser. A skincare essence is usually lighter than an ampoule or serum, but it can be slightly thicker than a toner. These are preps for the steps after, and can also be formulated with active ingredients, such as Unicorn Tears. After applying Continue Reading
