1. Hair removal creams
Hair removal creams may seem like the easy option for removing unwanted fuzz during pregnancy, the safety of use in pregnant mothers is still debated. There is no hard evidence that hair removal creams are harmful to a developing foetus, but it has been known to cause allergies.

2. Retinoids
Retinoid creams are derived from Vitamin A and are very effective at unclogging pores in acne-prone skin. It is also a potent anti-aging cream, having the ability to boost collagen and reduce fine lines and wrinkles. Oral isotretinoin is an oral vitamin A derivative used for inflammatory acne and is prohibited during pregnancy. Accordingly, retinoids may be absorbed after being applied and may pose a theoretical risk of causing birth defects. Even though studies have suggested a vey low risk, doctors still suggest pregnant women avoid applying retinoid creams during pregnancy. If you are trying to get pregnant, it would be wise to check your anti-aging creams to determine which are pregnancy-safe.
3. Pregnancy unsafe chemical peels and pimple creams
Salicylic acid, hailed as the BHA hero for clogged pores, grease and zits is best avoided during pregnancy. Although very little is absorbed following topical application, experts recommend skipping it because the oral version is not safe in pregnancy. Instead of salicylic acid, opt for glycolic acid or AHA (such as lactic acid). Benzyl peroxide, the active ingredient normally found in pimple creams are similarly discouraged, so speak to your doctor before using it.
4. Botox Injections
Not quite something people apply but Botox (botulinum toxin) is the anti-wrinkle injection that relaxes the muscles and reduces the appearance of lines on the face. Although some experts feel aesthetic doses are small and theoretically, a single injection should not contain enough Botox to harm the growing foetus, doctors do not recommend having Botox during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
