The pandemic that has been stretched out for more than a year has led to the reduction in socializing for many. To many, this is a source of pain. But not for me. I think there are still many enjoyable things to do even in this situation. You just have to adapt to different forms of entertainment. Here is a list of things that you can still do despite the pandemic.
- Spending time with friends
Even though there are many restrictions imposed, it is still possible to have fun with your friends. If you choose to stay home, you can always invite your friends over for a session of karaoke. Or else, solving an escape room online would be fun too!
If you want to get out of your house for a breather, you can have a simple picnic by the beach or go for a swim at the pool. But don’t forget your sunscreen! Just as wearing a mask is important to protect yourself from the virus, wearing sunscreen helps to protect your skin from the harmful sun rays.
- Selfcare party
Instead of hitting the bars, you now head straight home after work. The pandemic is a real bummer. But spending time alone at home doesn’t have to be all that bad! Cast your favorite chick flick to the TV or listen to your favourite true crime podcast. Put on a sheet mask and enjoy your me-time.
A perfect combination would be to put on this podcast, this neck mask, this sheet mask with a cup of warm tea beside you. Listening to true crime stories while erasing wrinkles from your neck and hydrating your face doesn’t make staying home sound so bad anymore, does it?
- Pick up a new skill
You are going to be spending a lot of time at home, so why not pick up a new skill in the meantime? You could pick up skills to upskill yourself or even just learn something that piques your interest. There are many websites offering courses for you online. ‘Coursera’ is an example of such a website, and they offer a wide variety of courses with certification.
Although this pandemic only seems to bring about bad news, there is always a silver lining. You learn to live at a slower pace and allocate some time to yourself for selfcare, pick up a new skill or two, and truly enjoy the warmth of your friendships.
