Botox, as we know, is primarily used to smoothen wrinkles on the forehead, frown lines and crow’s feet. But off-label treatments are increasingly prescribed now for minor complaints elsewhere in the body.
1. THE UNDERARMS
Botox Underarms is an underrated treatment that does wonders at eliminating sweat in the armpits, and it works for hyperhidrosis, a common disorder of excessive sweating which produces a lot of unhappiness to people who suffer from it. A diluted dose is injected into multiple spots in the skin of the underarms and goes into effect within 2 weeks and lasts on average 6 to 8 months depending on the dosage used. Botox can also ameliorate body odour, an awkward issue not incommon in axillary hyperhidrosis.
“This is a treatment I get once or twice a year. Sweating through my shirt distracts me when I have to give talks or presentations at work. When I know I won’t be sweating buckets visibly in my underarms in front of others, I do better” says financial analyst Emmanuel Tan.
2. PALMS AND SOLES
Guess what, focal hyperhidrosis doesn’t only happen in the armpits, it can also happen to the hands and the feet. Injecting Botox blocks the nerves that signal to produce sweat.
3. SCALP BLOTOX
Want to extend the length of your blowout? Try Botox for the scalp. Approximately 50 to 100 microinjections will stop excessive perspiration of the head, so your glossy (and expensive) blow-dry can stay intact for longer.
4. BREASTOX
Dubbed the Botox boob job, never have I imagined that Botox would one day find its (perky) place as a non-invasive tempory breast lifting treatment. These work by temporarily paralyzing chest muscylar tissue, forcing other muscles in the chest to become more supportive, effectively giving perky looking breasts that can look up to a cup size fuller. Whilst it might be effective, the longevity of this is questionable so it is best done just before an event. Those with cup sizes A to C are more likely to have chests which fit the bill for a Botox breast lift.
5. NECK
Named after the famous Egyptian queen, the Nefertiti Lift uses Botox injections to target muscles in the neck and jawline for a tightened and rejuvenating effect. The effect is due to relaxation of muscles which normally exert a downward (unflattering) pull resulting in an uplifting effect to the neck and jawline.
