I have good reasons not to like my body very much, in particular, my stubborn tummy is bent on making the world know that it continues to live, since I was 18. Problem is, I don’t have as much a problem with my weight, because I really don’t consider myself as fat. So you see why a tummy bulge can be an issue. Having tried dieting (which just makes me lose weight overall but doesn’t do much to change my shape), been to the gym, tried one of those vibration slimming belts, I contemplated liposuction. But according to a study, apparently fat comes back after it is liposuctioned out, to other parts of the body. I might be wrong, but I am not about to try it just to find out.
More importantly, I discovered a world of non-invasive body shaping that hides in a doctor’s slimming arsenal. But the biggest question is, does the weight come back with non-invasive treatments? Well, at least there isn’t a study yet to prove so.
Coolshape
Fat cryolipolysis is the freezing of stubborn fat in the body to induce fat cell death, as a nonsurgical alternative to liposuction.
“Popsicle panniculitis” was the first noted phenomenon observed as a loss of cheek fat in children who had sucked on frozen popsicles. This discovery led to the concept of fat cryolipolysis, a technique of controlled cooling for fat destruction. Cleverly, this treatment was built on research that showed that fat tissue was more sensitive to cold than other body tissue, therefore fat could be “frozen” at a higher temperature without affecting skin, muscle, nerves, and blood. When fat cells are exposed to cold temperatures, they become permanently injured and gradually die. The body then removes these dying cells naturally over time. With each treatment, one can lose up to 25% fat of an area treated.
The fat freezing procedure normally takes approximately 1 hour per area to complete, most people do 2 corresponding left and right areas (upper arms, thighs, flanks, and even abdomen). For most people, spending 2 hours without being able to move can be an absolute torture, myself included. So try and look for a clinic which has the more advanced fat freezing technology which can treat 2 areas at the same time, such as Coolshape, which effective cuts your treatment time in half!

Thermage Body
Thermage Body is the proven formula for cellulite reduction and skin tightening for the body, and has been so for many years. The latest generation of Thermage comes with a cooling tip, which guarantees comfort and greatly reduces risks of burns. For those who are new to the game of the skin tightening game, Thermage creates a deep heating effect by using radiofrequency energy. The goal is to induce thermal damage so as to stimulate collagen production. Results can be observed at approximately 3 months and continues to improve for several more months with a single treatment.
Exilis Body Magic
This is a fairly new cellulite and skin smoothing treatment that delivers radiofrequency energies to depths under the skin, resulting in fat loss and skin tightening. Precise and controlled heat shrinks fat cells and stimulates new collagen production after a treatment, resulting in smoother, firmer skin.
Compared to Thermage, which delivers a large amount of heat in bulk, this treatment is gentler, building up heat. Best of all, the temperature of the area treated is monitored real-time, and we all know that collagen production is stimulated only at a certain temperature, and temperatures that are too high result in collagen denaturation instead.
Another key difference between Exilis Body and Thermage is that Exilis should be repeated every few weeks for best results for at least 5 sessions, whereas Thermage is a once-only treatment (but can be repeated again after 6 months for better results, if desired).
